Graphic Services

At best systems, we offer comprehensive graphic services to meet a wide range of requirements. We check your files for completeness, sufficient resolution, correct dimensions, and adherence to color specifications, and promptly inform you of any discrepancies or inconsistencies.

Print-PDF Parameters

By adhering to the following technical requirements, we can quickly integrate your print data into our production process without complications. This ensures rapid production times and top quality without additional costs.  Some systems in our program require specific print parameters, so please also refer to our guidelines in our templates. We check your data for completeness, sufficient resolution, correct dimensions, colors as specified, and will notify you of any discrepancies or deviations from the order. If your print data is created externally, please also refer the creator to our print parameters.

• PDF/X-1a Acrobat (PDF 1.3 & 1.4 compatibility) or PDF/X-4 Acrobat.

• Embedded or converted fonts to paths.

• Minimum resolution of 100dpi in the final format; for scaled data, please adjust accordingly, never incorporate 100dpi templates larger than 100%.

• Dimensions according to our specific system requirements (see templates).

• Bleed graphics, if possible with crop marks and 3-5 mm bleed - except for data for fabrics with rubber lip finishing, please create a 20 mm bleed. For some products, there are non-visible areas - please design the print file to the specified print size and consider the effective viewing area as per the cutting plan.

• Ensure that only the information to be printed is included in the print file.

File Naming

Clear naming of print files helps to avoid confusion. Include the number of copies to be produced in the file name. Adding the correct final format and the proper file extension to the name simplifies our prepress process (e.g., Name_FileSize-in-cm_Quantity_Scale).

Colors & Print Profile

We print in the CMYK color mode using the eciCMYK color profile. Please use the same profile and ensure that your program's color mode is set to CMYK. Spot colors and RGB will be automatically converted to CMYK. For specific color reproduction (Pantone, RAL, etc.), we can provide print proofs upon request. Without this information, we cannot accept claims regarding color deviations.

To achieve deep black for frontlit or backlit displays, use CMYK 50/40/40/100 for frontlit displays and CMYK 100/100/50/100 for backlit displays.

Overprinting

Ensure that color areas stacked on top of each other are not set to "overprint" to prevent color mixing. For example, a yellow area on black could turn brownish, or a white area could disappear completely.

Is the resolution sufficient?

You can also self-check your print file for security. For example, viewing your 1:1 file at 100% zoom in Acrobat should match the quality on screen to the final print. When opening your PDF in Photoshop and rasterizing to the final format at 100dpi and viewing at 100%, you can efficiently check the file for completeness or details of image resolutions. Consider the viewing distance when evaluating resolution for the finished print product. It is generally recommended to scale up image data to the final format and desired resolution. Images may become less sharp but less pixelated. If you know the image data won't be available in better resolution, inform us during data submission for quicker data verification.

Creating Large Format Print Files

The workspaces of some graphic programs are limited, especially in large format printing. You can create and submit your print data in any scale, specifying the exact scale during data submission for correct production in the final format. Monitor image resolution; either include 1:1 image data at 100dpi, e.g., for 1:10 layouts, or rasterize images to the layout format at 1000dpi. Consider data compression settings during PDF export. In InDesign, each file's effective PPI can be checked individually in the Links panel.

Your color gradient appears banded?

Vector gradients in print often appear banded. Avoid large color gradients, or create them using Photoshop for smoother transitions. Pixel gradients allow for softer transitions. Adding a 1-1.5% noise filter can further enhance seamless transitions. Pixel gradients increase file size, leading to longer layout loading times. To save time, initially place a vector gradient during the creative phase, which can be replaced by a print-optimized pixel gradient later.

UV Printing:

UV printing is a process where ink is applied to the material and then instantly dried using UV light. Here are some key differences and notes:

Printing Surface:

•UV printing offers a slightly glossy surface.

•The colors are particularly vivid and striking.

Material Flexibility:

•UV-printed materials should not be folded to avoid cracking or chipping of the ink.

•The material maintains its quality better when stored rolled.

Sublimation Printing:

In sublimation printing, the ink is directly transferred into the textile using heat and pressure. Here are the relevant differences:

Printing Surface:

•Sublimation prints have a semi-matte surface.

•The colors are more subdued, offering a natural, matte look.

Material Flexibility:

•Unlike UV printing, sublimated materials can be folded without compromising the ink quality.

•This makes storage and transport easier, especially for textiles.

•Recommended for frequent reuse, such as at trade shows.

Important Note:

It is crucial to understand that due to the differences between these printing processes, the handling and storage of printed materials should be different. For UV printing, avoiding folds is essential, whereas sublimation prints can be folded without compromising quality due to their flexibility.
